Oral Health Screening for Children

Pediatric Dentist Marlton

At Gleam Pediatric Dentistry, we prioritize your child’s oral health and overall well- being. Did you know that oral cancer affects not only adults but can also occur in children? Early detection is key to successful treatment, which is why we recommend regular oral cancer screenings for children.

During your child’s dental visits, Dr. Patel will perform a thorough oral cancer screening to check for any abnormalities. Our comprehensive examination includes a close inspection of the mouth, throat, lips, gums, and tongue. We will also consider any symptoms your child may be experiencing, such as difficulty speaking, swallowing, or moving their jaw or tongue, persistent sore throat, lumps or swellings in or around the mouth, unexplained weight loss, mouth sores that don’t heal, and more.

If your child has experienced any of the mentioned symptoms for more than a week without improvement, we urge you to call our office immediately to schedule an appointment. Our caring team is here to address your concerns and provide the necessary support for your child’s well-being.

Contact Gleam Pediatric Dentistry today for more information on oral cancer screenings or to schedule an appointment. Together, we can safeguard your child’s smile and promote a lifetime of oral health.
